Client Insights Group (CIG) focuses on market research and analytics projects for the operating companies of Jana Group (Janalakshmi Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. and Janaadhar (India) Pvt. Ltd.) to help drive business strategy and product decisions. The team leverages a strong technological platform to generate insights.
Financial Advisory
Financial Advisory Services (FAS) is a program run by JUF to deliver financial education and advice to Janalakshmi customers. FAS builds inherent capacity amongst customers to make informed financial decisions, and drives financial behaviour (in terms of savings, credit etc.) to instil financial discipline and foster financial planning. The financial literacy model, called ArthikaNakshe™, was recognised as one of the four sustainable and scalable initiatives of its kind in India by IFC-GIZ in the Financial Awareness Scoping Study.
Education, Skills and Livelihoods
Education, Skills and Livelihoods (ESL) program is offered to the children of Janalakshmi customers with the objective of enabling them to access jobs in the formal sector. The program undertakes various initiatives in three main areas: encouraging and supporting the customers’ children’s education and paper writing, providing the youth with skill training, and connecting the youth to better job opportunities.
Research and Policy Initiatives
The Research and Policy Initiatives vertical at Jana Foundation plays a key inward-outward facing role that links research evidence to strategic initiatives and programs within the Foundation. Research and Policy Initiatives is also responsible for setting up platforms to disseminate information and influence policy related to financial inclusion.
Community Mobilization
The Community Mobilization function assists families in identifying needs and facilitates to services and benefits. The group works in customer communities in financial and non-financial aspects and connects them to resources and better livelihood opportunities within the Jana Group.
Spatial Analytics
The Spatial Analytics team works on spatial representation of insights obtained through data mining as they are easier to visualize and support strategic decision making. The idea is to spatially map all clients and look for patterns to understand the spatial dimensions of target customers, which helps develop new product/service opportunities. JUF has spatially mapped each and every part of one of the working areas of a single branch of Janalakshmi Financial Services.
